When I met him at Raise your Fist festival, Volker Raabe already told me, that he is about to book a new US Metal sensation for his third Swordbrothers festival... back then, I was not familiar with that band and so my surprise and enthusiasm was surely not overwhelming... but when I got home that weekend, guess what arrived in my mailbox? Yeah right, Miles Beyond's selftitled debut CD... after those words of highest praise, I was surely hot to listen to it, so I put it in the player and got fuckin' blown away!!! Behind the strange facade of that obscure and weird looking monster cover lurks a US Metal giant, so strong and powerful that it could smash legions of trendies and unbelievers with little more then just a single tip of it's finger!!! Miles Beyond mix the old guard of Classic 80s Metal ala Maiden/Dio/Saxon with the new brand of storming US Metal ala Slough Feg/Cauldron Born/Wastoid and forge almost 70 minutes of purest hymns of steel, that will surely make every Undergroundlers body sweat, neck twist and throad raspy!!! "Tales of Old", "Vlad the Impaler", "Hail to the King", "A call to Odin" and so on... hell yes, that are songtitles for a real Metal band!!! So if you're a real Metal fan, than give 'em a chance and join the "Rock Revolution"... these brave knights of metal are totally "Out of Control" and they ride out on crazy horses and fight with screaming axes, thundering basses, pounding drums and powerful battlecries and whoever stands in their way will surely feel the power of their almost unstoppable force!!! This band rocks as tough as Twisted Sister and as weird as Cauldron Born all at once... if you're into the new breed of forcedriven US Underground Metal and if you call gods like Wastoid, Twisted Tower Dire or Premonition among your very faves, then Miles Beyond is defintly the right stuff for you!!!
